Double eccentricity design of disc and stem reduces wear of valve seat and ensures bidirectional airtight closure within the whole pressure range. At the starting point of the seat, the eccentric valve plate produces a cam-like effect, which can pull the valve plate away from the seat without excessive pressure. This cam-like function of the valve plate at the starting position reduces the wear of the valve seat and minimizes the deformation of the valve seat. When the valve is opened, because the valve plate does not touch the seat, the service life of the seat is prolonged and the operating torque is very small. When the valve is closed, the reverse motion of the valve, which is similar to the cam action conversion, is a straight stroke motion, effectively pushing the valve plate to touch the seat. The swabbing action of the valve plate on the valve seat avoids the accumulation of foreign matter such as mud and suspended solids.
